About Craig

Craig Daniels lives on Staten Island, NY with his wife and son. He works a partial week as an IT/CAD Manager at a mid-sized Architectural firm in Manhattan. On his other days, he works in consulting and on-call project work as is highlighted in this website (techzmx.com)

Craig has 23 years of professional work experience related to AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction). He has worked with AutoCAD since 1986 when CAD was first starting to take off. From early on, Craig realized great potential in customizing CAD by writing tools in the LISP program language for AutoCAD. As a software developer, he has been able to create a large array of tools that several companies have been able to take advantage of. Craig has also served as CAD Manager for several companies.

Starting around 1994, Craig began expanding his skills by studying IT administration of networks, servers, and workstations. He received certification in Novell, which had industry dominance at the time. Later, when Microsoft gained market share, Craig quickly adopted into the new network/server infrastructure.

Craig's combined skills of IT Manager, CAD Manager, software developer has allowed him to serve in a variety of different support roles over the years. He is an expert with many software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database development (MS Access and SQL Server). Since the mid 90s also, he has taken interest in web design. He has created two different company intranets as well as websites for small to medium sized businesses. Recently, Craig has been studying other web topics for use in his development: CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.

Most recently he has been exploring web site design for Real Estate. His combined experience in both web design and architecture formulates a special perspective for creating web showcases for homes for sale. Take a look at the portfolio page for an example.

Craig's interests include: computers & technology (obvious by now, right?), travel, photography, aviation (a licensed pilot), tennis, snow skiing, home remodeling (currently living in a 1925 home that has been completely remodeled), and loves spending family time with his wife and their new son Brendan (born May 2008)
